Qualifications

The City of Kearney Utilities Department is seeking an organized, outgoing individual who can provide lead oversight to the Water Resource Recovery Facility Operators engaged in a wide variety of work, involving the operation and maintenance of a water resource and recovery facility. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and four years of wastewater treatment plant operation. Must possess a Nebraska Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification. Must possess a Nebraska Class III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification within one year of appointment; possession of or obtain a valid Nebraska commercial driver’s license (CDL Class B) with tanker and air brake endorsements, within three (3) months of appointment. Electrical experience preferred. A 30-minute residency response time is required.
