State Incentives

The federal CDBG program provides funding for community and economic development projects to expand economic opportunities and encourage resource investment. Apply for economic development grants here.

The Nebraska Site and Building Development Fund (SBDF) program aims to improve Nebraska’s industrial readiness. Eligible activities include land and building acquisition, construction,  rehabilitation and more. The DCBC is a willing partner for this program, frequently applying and administering these funds on behalf of Buffalo County businesses in recent years. The Microenterprise Assistance Program supports technology and innovation in rural and urban areas of Nebraska to create high-growth, high-technology businesses and to enhance the creation of wealth and quality jobs. Eligible applicants can receive up to $500,000 in Cycle 1 and up to $1,000,000 in Cycle 2. Apply here.

 

Local Incentives

The Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act (LB840) authorizes incorporated cities and villages to collect and appropriate local tax dollars for economic development purposes. A sales tax program exists in Ravenna for economic development. Contact Ravenna Economic Development Corporation for information.

The Kearney Community Redevelopment Authority exists to study and designate certain areas of the city that need improvement and development. Apply for Tax Increment Financing in Kearney. The City of Ravenna has a TIF program as well. 

A Nonprofit Development Organization engaging in community economic development activities can be a sub-recipient of CDBG Economic Development grants.
